My Story: The car was purchased in 2005 & i thought that the mural was a great way to promote a Jimmy Barnes concert that i staged in Broken Hill in June 2005. Having known Jimmy since 1978 he was more than pleased to be able to autograph the bonnet as well as the engine covers & the dash. The mural was airbrushed by my very good friend & artist Jamie Long who thought i was crazy the day i approached him with my idea of a mural on a monaro bonnet. The reason for him thinking such was that i 'didn't even own the car at that point in time. The mural took about 4 weeks to complete & has been the topic of many conversations all over the country & was included in the coffee table book about Jimmy Barnes titled Icons Of Australian Music by Scott Podmore.

Paint and Bodywork: The paint is the standard HOLDEN issue BLACK also being known as PHANTOM for the rebirth of the 2 door coupe.The mural was painted by my good friend Jamie Long in Broken Hill in April 2005 @ his studio.When the muraled bonnet is not fitted to the car , it is replaced by a HOLDEN FLUTED bonnet. The muraled bonnet is currently insured with SHANNONS. A REAR WING has also been fitted by the HOLDEN BY DESIGN TEAM .

Interior/AudioVisual: The interior of the vehicle boasts 4 X BLACK LEATHER BUCKET SEATS with full electronic controls , complimented with black suede trim for contrast.The cabin comes equipped with full sports instrumentation as well as having fitted a fully ELECTRIC SUNROOF fitted by the HOLDEN BY DESIGN TEAM @ Elizabeth SA. There is also a 6 STACKER CD SYSTEM with full contols on the LEATHER BOUND SPORTS STEERING WHEEL.

Wheels & Undercar: Fitted to the car are a set of 18 X 8 INCH AMG VORTEX 5 SPOKE CHROME WHEELS , accompanied by a set of BRIDGESTONE 18 X 8 INCH POTENZA’S. The STAINLESS STEEL exhaust BY DI FILLIPO boasts 4 INTO 1 , 3 INCH EXTRACTORS , COUPLED TO HIGH FLOW SLIMLINE CATS , linked to 2 1/2 INCH TWIN STAINLESS BOXES.

Engine & Underbonnet: The engine is a CHEVROLET 350CI / 5.7 LITRE CAST IRON GEN III ,coupled to a 5 SPEED AUTOMATIC GEARBOX,TRACTION CONTROL is also fitted to the vehicle.The vehicle has been FULLY EDITED & DYNO’D , achieving 276KWS / 301BHP @ the REAR WHEELS.At a MONARO NATIONALS MEET the car was put throuhg its paces over a stand start 200m track or 1/8th mile achieving a best time of 9.35 SECONDS @ 81.37 MILES PER HOUR.
